Scottie Thompson's Christmas Comeback - Star Player's Return for Clash Against TNT
Scottie Thompson is expected to return to play for Barangay Ginebra in time for their PBA Commissioner’s Cup game against TNT on Christmas Day. Despite an earlier prediction of Thompson being out for two to three weeks owing to a left leg injury suffered in a recent encounter against Blackwater, Coach Tim Cone is hopeful that Thompson will be able to play on December 25 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“Christmas’ll finish him.” “That’s for sure,” Cone said, laughingly adding, “(He) better be. Or else I’ll hurt myself.”
During a battle for the ball, big man Bradywyn Guinto crashed into Thompson’s left leg, injuring him. Despite finishing the game against Blackwater, Thompson sat out the following match against Terrafirma Dyip, which Barangay Ginebra won 110-99.
Cone shared information on the medical evaluation, noting, “Initial diagnosis from Doc (George) Canlas is 2-3 weeks minimum.” However, he expressed confidence in Thompson’s ability to recover quickly, citing the versatile guard’s reputation as a quick healer.
“We’ll see what happens.” He wants to return sooner. When he fractured his hand with Gilas, he stated it about his hand. ‘I’ll surely be back,’ he promised. Everyone, even the physicians, doubted him, and yet he returned. “So we’re not going to doubt him at this point,” Cone said.
Ginebra’s anticipation of Thompson’s comeback adds intrigue to the Christmas Day matchup against TNT, where supporters want to see the star player back in action.
