NLEX Bolsters Roster with Rookies Enoch Valdez and Jhan Nermal
The NLEX Road Warriors have made significant roster adjustments by signing youngsters Enoch Valdez and Jhan Nermal to two-year contracts, the organization announced on Tuesday. Valdez and Nermal, selected 18th and 21st overall in the recent PBA Season 48 Draft, are expected to lend their talents to the Road Warriors in the following seasons.
Enoch Valdez, a new Road Warriors signing, had a tremendous undergraduate career with Lyceum in the NCAA. His skill on the court was evident as he helped lead the Pirates to the Final four as the second seed. Despite their outstanding performance, the San Beda Red Lions defeated the club in the semifinals.
On the other hand, Jhan Nermal, a 6-foot-3 forward from Bacolod, provides a diversified set of abilities to the NLEX roster. Nermal had competed in the PBA 3×3 competition with San Miguel Beer before joining the Road Warriors. Notably, he was named the MPBL Fifth Season’s Most Improved Player, showcasing his potential as a vital contributor to the squad.
NLEX Road Warriors Team Governor Ronald Dulatre welcomed Valdez and Nermal into the team’s family, expressing his delight over the recruits. Dulatre, formally appointed team governor last Friday, praised both players’ great qualities and potential contributions to the club’s success.
“Enoch Valdez and Jhan Nermal have demonstrated exceptional talent on the court, and we believe they will play instrumental roles in our pursuit of success,” he said. The team governor has been a vital part of NLEX’s history, from their early days in the PBA D-League to their present position in the Philippine Basketball Association.
Dulatre also works as the Head of Treasury, Risk, and Insurance Management at NLEX, demonstrating his broad contributions to the firm. The Road Warriors, now 2-4 in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, look forward to the significant influence that Valdez and Nermal may bring to the squad as they continue their season in the league.
