PBA's Iron Man Admits to end of his Playing Career
LA Tenorio claimed that after being diagnosed with cancer in February, he had significant reservations about returning to the court. Rather than considering a comeback to basketball throughout his treatment, the experienced player was totally focused on recuperating and restoring his health for the sake of his family.

Tenorio stated that his primary objective during the rehabilitation process was to be healthy for his wife, children, and family rather than for himself. Tenorio made a spectacular return to the court barely ten months after being diagnosed with cancer despite initially not considering a comeback.
The 39-year-old, known as the PBA’s Iron Man, played for 25 minutes in his comeback game, displaying his resilience by making two three-pointers. The Ginebra Kings honored their team captain by starting Tenorio and designing the opening play exclusively for him.
Tenorio reflected on his homecoming and thanked his teammates and coaching staff for making his comeback a joyful experience. He stressed their excitement and support in his triumphant comeback to the game.
Despite his triumph and effective performance, Tenorio confessed humbly that he is still working on recovering full game shape, estimating himself to be at about 70%. He emphasized the difficulties of adapting to the time and intensity of actual games vs practice sessions.
Looking ahead, LA Tenorio expressed thanks for the opportunity to return to the sport he loves and thanked his Ginebra family for their support during his recovery.
