Jorge Gallent is a former player and professional basketball coach from the Philippines. He is the current head coach of the Philippine Basketball Association’s (PBA) San Miguel Beermen.
Gallent went on to play professional basketball in the PBA for the Tanduay Rhum Masters and the Air21 Express after graduating from college. In the year 2000, he announced his retirement from basketball.
Gallent began his coaching career in 2001 as an assistant coach with the Air21 Express. He joined the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados in 2009 and was elected head coach in 2010. He guided the Llamados to the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals in 2011.
Gallent joined the San Miguel Beermen as an assistant coach in 2011. He played a vital role in the Beermen’s title campaigns in the 2014-15 PBA Philippine Cup, 2015 Governors’ Cup, and 2016.
Gallent took over as head coach of the San Miguel Beermen in 2023 after Leo Austria stepped down. He guided the Beermen to the Governors’ Cup triumph in 2022.
