MERALCO BOLTS TEAM PROFILE

The Meralco Bolts are a Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) professional basketball team. The team was formed in 2010 after the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) purchased the Sta—Lucia Realtors’ PBA franchise. The team is one of three PBA teams now owned by billionaire Manuel V. Pangilinan, who also owns the TNT Tropang Giga and the NLEX Road Warriors.

Luigi Trillo is the team’s head coach. The team’s primary stars are Aaron Black, Chris Newsome, Allein Maliksi, and Cliff Hodge.

The Meralco Bolts are among the most popular teams in the Philippine Basketball Association. They are recognized for playing fast-paced, thrilling basketball. They are also recognized for their devoted fan group, the “Bolt Gang.”

NORMAN BLACK

Coach Black is one of the most successful in PBA history. As a head coach, he has won 11 titles, including a Grand Slam with the San Miguel Beermen in 1989. He is also the only coach to have won a championship in each decade from 1980 to 2010.

Black was born to a Filipino father and an American mother in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the University of the Philippines, where he was a two-time UAAP champion. He also played in the 1986 FIBA World Championship for the Philippine national team.

Coach of the Year honors were bestowed upon Norman Black by the Philippine Basketball Association in 1988, 1990, 1992, and 1999. In 2010, he was also inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame.

Norman Black is well-known for his strict coaching approach. He is also a gaming strategy expert with a good eye for talent. He is regarded as one of the top coaches in Philippine basketball history.
