Robert Bolick Clutch Threes Secure Victory vs Blackwater

NLEX ended Blackwater’s scorching start in the PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Philsports Arena with a hard-fought 103-97 victory, largely thanks to Robert Bolick’s clutch shooting display.

In the closing minute of the game, Bolick’s heroics took place. He made two clutch three-pointers that gave the Road Warriors their fourth win in five games and handed the Bossing their first loss in four games.

Ritchie Rodger and Anthony Semerad, who came up with big baskets to break a tie at 92-all, added to Bolick’s incredible effort. Their efforts helped to secure the victory, as did Jong Uichico’s leadership in Frankie Lim’s absence as NLEX coach because of a wrist injury.

Notably, NLEX’s bench players contributed a great deal of help. With a game-high 14 points and two blocks, Dominick Fajardo outperformed Jhan Nermal, who had 16 points and seven rebounds. Robbie Herndon also scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Former Blackwater guard Baser Amer also scored 12 points.

Bolick, named PBA Press Corps Player of the Week, showed off his versatility with a nearly triple-double effort, including nine rebounds, nine assists, and his game-winning three-pointers in the final seconds.

In addition to scoring, assistant coach Borgie Hermida praised Bolick’s ability to facilitate plays and noted that he made excellent decisions throughout the game.

Prior to Bolick’s crucial three-pointers, NLEX had a five-point lead thanks to Rodger’s layups and Semerad’s three-pointers, which essentially sealed the victory.

On the other hand, Rey Suerte led Blackwater with 21 points despite having trouble making free throws at crucial moments in the game.

NLEX’s superiority was evident on the final scoreboard, which was fueled by the combined efforts of Bolick, Nermal, Fajardo, Herndon, Amer, Semerad, and Rodger.

NLEX prevailed despite a heroic effort by Blackwater, which Suerte, Rosario, and Nambatac led. NLEX displayed fortitude and poise throughout the match.

The triumph establishes NLEX as a strong competitor in the PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup and sets up intriguing matchups for the remaining games.
