TNT Tropang GIGA are getting ready for Game 2 of the PBA Semi Finals
Magnolia’s priority in Friday’s rematch with TNT in Game 2 of the PBA semi-finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum would be to regain its legs.
Last Wednesday, the Tropang Giga won the first game in a best-of-seven series by a score of 108-96.
The Hotshots’ coach, Chot Reyes, said that he anticipates a strong response from the Hotshots and that his squad is prepared for a lengthy battle.

Magnolia is the first to tie the series. They must regain their footing in order to avoid falling further behind said coach Chito Victolero.
Victolero added, “We must regain our legs in order to compete with anybody.”
“Obviously, we had difficulty recovering after a rigorous series versus NLEX. This is also a component, but I will not name it as a reason. Kasi we know na sunod-sunod games dito sa playoffs. We must put things aside and develop a more positive attitude, “inserted Victolero.
“Importante malampasan namin fatigue factor. Kailangan nasa isip namin na makaka-compete kami even though we’re exhausted.”
That went the distance and finished in a 112-106 overtime victory.
Conversely, TNT got a whole week of rest after their 116-95 quarterfinal victory against Converge.
Coach Chito on PBA Semi Finals Game 2
In the PBA semi finals opening, the TNT Tropang Giga jumped out to an early 15-5 lead, seized the half with a 54-37 advantage, and widened the gap to a maximum of 84-60.
“May factor na siguro na medyo pagod, kasi nga ‘yung core ng team have played heavy minutes, lalo na sa quarterfinals. Kita naman na a little bit slow reaction sa depensa.
Then sa rebounding medyo late kami,” Victolero said. The unrecognized members of the Hotshots’ personnel are now more valuable to his team than the video clips and drawing board.
“Adjustment is minimal, mas importante recovery kaya ‘yung mga PT’s (physical therapists), masahista ang important sa amin ngayon. Kasi we need those legs para maibalik namin ‘yung aming defensive intensity,” said Victolero.
“Our identity is our defense. Iyon ang nagdala sa amin dito so we just need to go back to our strength. But, of course, bago ka mabakalik doon kailangan mo ng materyales na magagawa ang gusto mong gawin. Sunod na sa legs ‘yung our will, our heart na lalaban kami.”
