According to sources, the club intends to play an all-Filipino game versus NorthPort before choosing whether or not to bring in a replacement import. It might be a pleasant present for NorthPort, now tied for a ninth place alongside ROS and Terrafirma.
Rain or Shine was forced to play without reinforcement in their last game against Phoenix Super LPG because their intended substitute Greg Smith II was injured, and Jordan Tolbert was above the maximum height ceiling. Despite the loss, the E-Painters kept the game intriguing by outscoring the Fuel Masters 60-47 in the second half after falling by 23 points in the first.
NorthPort will have to work extra hard to keep their conference aspirations alive after a 0-6 start. With a victory over ROS and another against TNT on March 15, the Batang Pier might tie for eighth position and compete for the last quarterfinals slot. Nevertheless, this ideal situation for NorthPort is contingent on Phoenix finishing the elimination with just four victories.
